Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces
A comeback the Russian player claimed his first trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging season, winning just one win at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.
Currently working with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial trophy after the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from spring of that year.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has won 21 championships at twenty-one different competitions.
"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters together, so to get a championship is really nice," said world number 14 the champion.
"This title is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his last six championship matches, comprising in Halle in the past months.
The player's counter-punching strategy and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted commentators to doubt if his ability to play at the highest level was concluded.
However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete assertively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
Medvedev recovered from a break down in the first set against the tricky Moutet, taking four of the concluding five games to take the lead.
The competitors traded breaks in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his first professional championship, seized the initiative to push for a decider.
The opponent rescued four initial break points in a tight final set before the champion broke to that score to close out the victory.
Suitably, Medvedev earned the title with a point at the net, with his opponent failing to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
